Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp
If using frozen shrimp, defrost them under cold running water. Pat them dry with paper towels.
Season the shrimp lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside.
Step 2: Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until the butter melts and starts to foam.
Add the shrimp in a single layer. Sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Step 4: Add Lemon and Seasonings
Stir in the fresh lemon juice and red pepper flakes. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Step 5: Combine the Shrimp
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss them gently to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Let everything heat through for about 1 minute.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle fresh parsley over the shrimp and sauce for a pop of color.
If desired, garnish with grated parmesan cheese for extra richness.
